![]() ![]() This innocuous card from Oath of the Gatewatch has silently become quite the effective creature not only in Standard (as seen in Saito's U/R Fliers) but also as a fringe card in Modern. Flying and flash are still great keywords to see on a creature, and Dimensional Infiltrator falls into that category as well. While Rattlechains still doesn't have viable spirits to play along with, it's still an extremely efficient and effective creature. Hugo Terra is onto something here, and as someone who enjoys a good aggro deck I can say for sure this is a twist on a traditional aggressive archetype. Hugo felt that the best direction for blue-white was an aggressive tempo strategy. I wanted to take the time to highlight some of these decks that I see on a weekly basis, perhaps giving you all some ideas on what to play in the coming weeks at FNM or something to augment with new cards from Eldritch Moon. ![]() Company lists are a plenty, and we have just seen the rise of an actual effective control list in U/R Eldrazi Control. Along with myself, other writers on QS have written a plethora of articles about Standard. Whatever you decide, make sure to proxy and test the decks a lot before you make any purchases.Standard has been quite the format to watch as of late. They are tricky decks to play, though, and require a lot of practice to play optimally. Mono-W is the cheapest one:īut the Eldrazi variants are not too expensive either, and feel closer to midrange decks: I'm not sure it should be called "midrange", but Taxes variants are midrange-ish decks that tend to be relatively cheap. :/Īnyway, Midrange decks usually fall on the more expensive spectrum of Modern decks - I think 5C Niv-Mizzet is the cheapest one and it's still quite pricey, though you can probably make a playable version depending on your budget by cutting some of the more expensive Planeswalkers and running only the KTK fetches. ![]() It's really hard to give recommendations without an approximate budget.
